McGinley supports local foodbank network

McGinley is proud to be supporting our local Foodbank networks, run by The Trussell Trust.

As part of our McGinley in the Community Scheme we have arranged a quarterly donation to the Foodbanks closest to our 12 offices across the UK.

Every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income. A simple box of food makes a big difference, with foodbanks helping prevent crime, housing loss, family breakdown and mental health problems.

More Than Food

Foodbanks also offer a lot more than food. Volunteers provide a listening ear to clients over a warm drink, and signpost people to other charities and agencies who can help resolve the underlying cause of the crisis.

UK foodbank use continues to rise according to new data from anti-poverty charity, The Trussell Trust.

Between 1st April 2016 and 31st March 2017, The Trussell Trust’s Foodbank Network provided 1,182,954 three day emergency food supplies to people in crisis compared to 1,109,309 in 2015-16. Of this number, 436,938 went to children.
