The infrastructure has recently seen some significant changes with increased line speeds, increase of daytime passenger traffic of 30% and a 10% increase throughout the day on freight. This has all resulted in less time being available to gain access for essential and routine maintenance.

Green zone working is always the preferred method of working but as we all know availability is becoming more and more restrictive.

As Red zone working is increasingly becoming the only option to undertake planned maintenance and repairs, McGinley Support Services can offer the best equipment and solutions available to assist you in gaining access for maintaining the railway infrastructure. We can offer full UK coverage at very competitive rates.

We have fully trained staff with over 20 years combined experience in:

• The planning of ATWS, TWS and LOWS systems in accordance with the module OTP and the 501 line standard.
• Installation of ATWS, TWS and LOWS systems.
• Operation of ATWS, TWS and LOWS deployment.
• The delivery of a full turn key solution from planning, operating and decommissioning all the way through to the project end.

In addition, we can also offer a trackside lighting and fencing/rigid barrier service, which can run parallel to the ATWS/LOWS protection systems.

ATWS is the ideal solution for medium to long term planned maintenance activities.  Once installed and tested it can offer a fully automatic system to ensure adequate warnings are given for all approaching trains into the protected areas.
 
TWS is a simplified version of ATWS without the ?strike out? treadle, thus requiring human intervention to count down the trains as they exit the protected area.  It requires less installation and is suitable for short term work sites at busy junctions.

LOWS offers complete flexibility ranging from small non moving worksites, long distance track walking inspection and localized maintenance.
The system can be portable or static and does not require excessive set up times. It is also higher up the hierarchy than the conventional look outs and greater warning times can be achieved.
