Steel Fixer Apprenticeship - Level 2

Intake Starts: 28th October 2024

Are you ready to invest in your future and build a rewarding career in construction? With the industry booming, our Steel Fixer Apprenticeship is a fantastic opportunity for those starting or changing careers.

What You'll Do: As a steel fixer, you'll assemble and erect steel components to reinforce concrete structures, such as bridges. Your role will include:

  • Creating structures and components from plans.
  • Using hand and power tools to cut and bend bars or mesh.
  • Tying reinforcement bars and mesh together with wire, clips or welds to build up sections.
  • Securing steel to concrete bases.
  • Installing beams and pre-cast slabs.

About the Apprenticeship

  • Duration: Typically 18 months to complete.
  • Support: English and Maths (GCSE Grades A-C / 4-9) are mandatory. You'll need to complete these during the apprenticeship if not already achieved, before formal assessment.
  • Earnings: Earn a steady income while you learn, avoiding student loans and tuition fees

What We're Looking For:

  • Basic understanding of health and safety in the workplace.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and take responsibility for your development.
  • Ideally, you should have a driving license and access to a vehicle.
  • A valid Green Labourers CSCS card.
