We are currently recruiting for PSV Plant Welder to join our HS2 project based in Birmingham.
As the PSV Plant Welder you will be responsible for the following:
Duties:
*Applies of RAMS for the installation and maintenance of cranes and specialist mechanical / electrical precast yard and Viaduct plant.
*Performs welding works when scheduled by OEM's during erection phase.
*Performs relevant repairs on plant and equipment.

Production
The following experience/ skills are essential:
*Be able to inspect plant and equipment.
*Be able to work as a team with fitters, other welders, electricians and S/C technicians.
*Carries out repairs or approved adaptions of plant and equipment in an organised and professional manner. In case of difficulty, informs his management.
*Builds or adapts simple and approved steel temporary structures.
*Flexible with time to work out of normal hours and some weekends to carry out, PPM, repairs, or to solve urgent breakdown issues to ensure the least possible downtime to critical plant and equipment.
*Gives support to the delivery team
The following experience/ skills are essential:
*Previous operational experience in construction plant and equipment maintenance
*Previous 5+ years' experience in TIG welding on steel structures, plant and equipment
*Previous experience in cranes erection, a bonus
*Certified TIG welder, City & Guilds level 2+ or equivalent
*Certified MIG welder, a bonus
*Relevant CSCS or CPCS card
*Clean car driving license
*IPAF Card, ideally 3A+3B
*Work at height experience preferred

Hours: Monday to Friday 07:30 - 18:00
Rate: Negotiable
