Job Summary:
The OLE Senior Construction Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of overhead line construction activities for railway electrification projects. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to manage complex projects efficiently. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in railway electrification and a proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
This role can either be on a contract of permanent basis. Salary/Daily rate is up for negotiation depending on your experience. This will be inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Lead the planning and execution of overhead line construction activities, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budgets.
- Develop and implement project management strategies to optimise resource allocation and project delivery.
- Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
Technical Oversight:
- Provide technical guidance and expertise on overhead line construction methods, materials, and best practices.
- Oversee the design, installation, and testing of overhead line systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Identify and resolve technical challenges promptly to minimise project disruptions.
Team Leadership:
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of construction managers, engineers, and support staff.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the construction team.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Quality Assurance:
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the delivery of high-quality construction work.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify compliance with project specifications and standards.
Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and other key stakeholders.
- Provide regular project updates and communicate effectively to address any concerns or issues.
- Represent the company in project meetings and industry forums as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Alternatively we will look at Time-served CMs with strong experience.
- A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in railway electrification and overhead line construction.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale railway projects from inception to completion.
- Strong knowledge of railway electrification systems, construction techniques, and industry standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
