We are currently recruiting for an experienced Business Development Director with a desire for selling and a proven track record in the regulated sectors in the Infrastructure sector. This exciting role is working for one of the UK's largest specialist recruitment businesses in the Infrastructure market.
Working with and reporting to the Managing Director for Rail Systems, the BDD will be responsible for driving business growth within the Rail Systems division and maximising on market opportunities. This includes identifying a strong growth pipeline and working on account management plans for existing services to improve the likelihood of contracts being retained.
In conjunction with the rest of the Business Development team, you will lead on responses to opportunities by creating high quality winning bids, setting out strong mobilisation plans and communicating attractive market proposition to encourage interest from external organisations and other key stakeholders.
As a key role within the delivery function, the post holder will foster and develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders, supporting the maximisation of opportunities.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES
As a Business Development Director you will be targeting organisations in the Infrastructure market. The role of a Business Development Director will cover the entire sales cycle from cold calling, proposal writing and business presentations to customers. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with good interpersonal skills and experience in opening business in a consultative manner in a B2B role.
Key responsibilities:
Proactively use market intelligence to identify and then tender for significant opportunities that need to be managed at a senior level given the services required.
Own and lead tender submissions including contract planning and pipeline management with the support of the Managing Director for Rail Systems. This requires collaborative working across Divisions, ensuring good information share and clear expectation setting.
Support the Commercial Manager with commercial negotiations and renegotiations for bids and tenders, working closely with Divisional Sales, Operations and other key stakeholders.
Conduct thorough market analysis to identify opportunities and develop strategies that maximize margins and drive revenue growth. Continuously strive to expand the range of offerings provided to each customer account.
Work alongside marketing to align campaigns and collateral with new products, services and underutilized products.
Identify new markets and under penetrated sectors and create strategy to gain traction and market share
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
All applicants must have experience in selling to our nine market sectors of the Infrastructure market. Ideally with experience in recruitment selling temp and perm staffing solutions
At least 3 years consistent business development and account management sales track record with a proven ability to hit targets
Experienced face to face sales experience
Self-motivated and disciplined
Articulate and polished with a professional approach to sales
Able to self-generate leads for building sales pipeline

Genuine interest in the Infrastructure market
Exceptional communication skills
Creative and analytical thinker
Superior time management skills and a strong attention to detail
