Electrical Estimator - Rail
Salary: circa £70,000 + Package
Location: Hatfield (with flexible working)
Our client, a leading reputable rail SME contractor is looking for an Electrical Estimator to join their team in Hatfield.
This role has been developed to support the business operations regarding Tendering and Estimating support for Electrical discipline specific Tenders and Business opportunities. To enhance and support the Tendering and Estimating function to secure an order book in respect of the business's Electrical and E&P Business targets to maintain and support sustainable growth in this key sector.
As Electrical Estimator you will be involved in supporting the Construction estimating team with initial tender analysis, take-Offs, pricing, scope and source information documentation reviews and procurement related activities to assist in the compilation of all Electrical tendering requirements for submission to Clients.
Your Role & Responsibilities:
*Evaluation and Assessment of all incoming client Tender enquiries
*Technical reviews of tender source information for all Electrical tender enquiries
*Evaluation of incoming tender enquiries to determining go / no go decision for tenders
*Development of Tender programme to meet tender timescales and submission dates
*Outline of key tender review meetings and tender evaluation schedule- including all key internal attendees
*Outline of all long lead plant and material requirements for issue of pricing enquiries
*Outlined of any specialist suppliers and equipment required to provide a compliant tender submission
*Management of Electrical Tenders and estimates
*Responsible for the management and delivery of Electrical estimating requirements for all GRCL tendering opportunities
*Preparation of prices utilising the CANDY Software Estimating package
*Preparation of Take-Off's from Tender drawings and collation into a recognised BOQ
*Generation of risk register and evaluation of potential impact on cost and programme of all identified risk items
*Ensuring external quotations for specialist labour, plant and materials are obtained and vetted in line with tender programme requirements
*Obtaining compliant quotations for materials, plant and 3rd party organisations in line with tender timescales and client submission dates
*Compiling detailed tender clarifications and assumptions for inclusion within the tender submission
*Identification of all restrictions, including working times, locations, interfaces, etc. required to complete a compliant tender submission
*Identification of all client dependencies and attendances and provisions by 3rd Parties (by others)
*Identification of all technical support requirements for the tender submission, including but not limited to:
oProduction of Pre-Construction requirements
oProduction of Inspection and Test Plans
oProduction of Commissioning and Handover requirements
*Attendances at meetings / Factory Acceptance Tests / Site Acceptance Tests, etc.
*Production of H&S Files and O&M manuals
*Identification of all Technical Queries required to complete tender submissions
*Transmittal and management of all Technical Queries to ensure compliant Tender submission
*Obtaining all additional client information required to facilitate the tender submission process.
*Maintaining Tender records and correspondence
Your Experience & Qualifications:
*Minimum 5 years' experience working in Engineering & Tendering environment within a railway environment in both Network Rail (AC, DC & non electrified areas) and London Underground controlled infrastructures.
*Good working knowledge of Network Rail and London Underground Standards and procedures and rail construction project experience.
*Professionally Qualified to Degree / HNC Level in Engineering - Electrical qualification
*Sentinel - Personal Track Safety (PTS)/ AC/ DCCR.
*Electrical & E&P Estimating competent
*Car Driving Licence (Full/ No endorsements).
*Commercial and Contracting understanding - Specifically in NEC3
*18th Edition - IEE Regulations
