Sustainable Places Planning Officer
Contract Length: Until 31/03/2022
Pay Rate to Candidate: £17.22 (Umbrella) / £12.82 (PAYE) per hour
You will help manage the Environment Agency's statutory interaction with the Town & Country planning process. You will work in the Sustainable Places team which has a cross cutting, multifunctional role. Working closely with our technical teams to provide quality, timely planning advice to Local Planning Authorities to protect and enhance the environment through sustainable development.
You'll need a sound knowledge and application of the Town & Country Planning system, be able to manage your workload to meet competing demands, have a proven track record of excellent customer service, have good communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team.
We are currently working from home. When our offices re-open there will be opportunity to work form either the Bodmin or Exeter office
-Degree in Town & Country Planning or experience working in a local authority planning service
-Sound knowledge and application of the Town & Country Planning system
-Being able to manage workload to meet competing demands
-Have a proven track record of excellent customer service
-Have good communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team
-The candidate will need to have experience of using GIS mapping systems and an eye for detail.
-Ideally they need to understand, or as a minimum, be aware of the Environment Agency's role in the Town & Country planning system
