I had the great honour of representing McGinley Support Services yesterday at the Palace of Westminster, where we were recognised as one of the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers in the UK for the second year in a row. This award is a testament to the hard work, commitment, and vision of our entire team, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve achieved together.
At McGinley, we’ve always believed in the power of apprenticeships—not just as a route into work but as a way to shape the future of our industry. This award highlights the progress we’ve made in creating meaningful opportunities for people from all backgrounds, helping them build long-lasting careers in the infrastructure and construction sectors.
I want to take this opportunity to give special thanks to Fiona Burke and her incredible team, whose tireless efforts have ensured that our apprenticeship programmes continue to flourish. Their commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment has been key in making sure that we are introducing talent from diverse backgrounds into the industry. Their work has been instrumental in our continued success and recognition on a national scale.
Our approach at McGinley has always been about more than just filling roles. We are deeply committed to developing talent, investing in people, and preparing the workforce for the challenges ahead. This recognition only strengthens our resolve to keep pushing forward, especially as we adjust our focus to support the Labour Party’s ambitious plans for affordable and social housing. By expanding our apprenticeship initiatives into the housebuilding sector, we can help ensure that developers not only meet their Section 106 obligations but also bring a skilled and diverse workforce to the table, which will benefit communities for years to come.
Being ranked among the top 100 apprenticeship employers is a reflection of the values we hold at McGinley: Integrity, Respect, Safety, Inclusion, Endeavour and Improvement. It’s a moment of great pride for all of us, but it’s also a reminder that the work doesn’t stop here. We remain committed to creating high-quality apprenticeship opportunities that will drive our industry forward and empower the next generation.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey with us—our apprentices, mentors, and the entire team at McGinley. Together, we will continue to make a lasting impact on the future of our industry.
