McGinley Support Services is thrilled to announce that we have raised £4,200.35 for the Anthony Nolan Trust via our fundraising activities and an additional £3,041.08 via our Just Giving Page.
The total comes from fundraising events and activities completed by our employees across the country.
The amount raised will provide Anthony Nolan with the opportunity to match incredible individuals willing to donate their blood stem cells or bone marrow to people who desperately need lifesaving transplants.
Events throughout our fundraising journey have included cake sales, Jeans Friday and wacky tie days as well as some larger company-wide events.
Bringing together staff from across the country, the McGinley Quiz night included 10 all action rounds hosted by our Managing Director, Dermot McGinley, with the winning team being crowned the McGinley Mastermind Team for the year.
This Epic 100 mile four-day paddle was the Ultimate Challenge for Team McGinley.
A gruelling four-day Canoe Challenge from Glasbury to Chepstow saw the team paddling around 25 miles per day and camping at night on the river’s edge. Each day was a test of strength and stamina with the final day requiring the team to be accompanied by a guide as the river reaches its tidal point.
Speaking after taking part in The Wye 100 challenge Dermot McGinley, Managing Director for McGinley Support Services commented
“Teamwork is what was needed for this challenge. Everyone involved gave their all and also learnt a lot about each other! Not all were used to camping or rowing, some found it easier than others but a huge sense of achievement was felt by all that took part. Not just in the challenge but also in raising much-needed funds for this important charity”
Jade Irons, Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager, Anthony Nolan added “We are so thankful to the whole team at McGinley Support Services for their support of Anthony Nolan. The funds raised so far will make a huge difference in our work to save the lives of people with blood cancer, and we look forward to strengthening our relationship even further in 2018”.
