At McGinley Support Services, recruitment is about more than just placing the right people into roles. It's about sparking ambition, offering guidance, and helping individuals imagine futures they might not have considered.
Earlier this month, two of our team members, Rebecca Silvestri and Rebecca Gibson, spent time in Liverpool attending local careers fairs. Representing McGinley and our clients, they spent their days speaking with jobseekers, sharing insights, and creating positive influence wherever they could.
Their conversations with attendees weren’t just about ticking boxes or filling vacancies. They were about helping people recognise the possibilities ahead of them — particularly those who might never have pictured themselves working in rail, infrastructure, or engineering. For many, it was the first time they’d heard about the kinds of roles we help to recruit for and the transferable skills they already possess.
The importance of these events cannot be overstated. In a market where the right talent can make a tangible difference to infrastructure projects across the UK, it’s vital that we not only seek out the best candidates — but actively encourage new ones into the sectors we serve.
Our CSR team’s time in Liverpool is a great example of that commitment in action. By meeting people face to face, answering questions, and simply listening, they made an impact that will hopefully stick with jobseekers well beyond the day.
We’ve included a selection of photos from the events below — capturing some of the conversations, connections, and moments that made this visit so valuable. A big thank you to Rebecca and Rebecca for their continued work in championing opportunities and encouraging the workforce of tomorrow.
