Showcasing McGinley's Collaboration with Nexus on track renewal works on the Tyne and Wear Metro

A recent example of such collaboration is our involvement in the renewal track on the Tyne and Wear Metro, where we worked closely with Metro’s operator, Nexus, to deliver crucial infrastructure works.

The Fawdon project in Newcastle, which took place over a single weekend, was a significant undertaking involving a two-day intensive programme. McGinley supplied 30 skilled staff to support various aspects of the project, including supervisors, chargehands, technicians, and other essential team members. Despite the challenging conditions and numerous programme adjustments, the combined efforts of all teams ensured the project was completed successfully and on time.

Tom Millar, Infrastructure Works Delivery Civils & Rail Team Manager at Nexus, expressed his appreciation for the hard work and dedication of everyone involved. He highlighted the crucial roles played by multiple teams, including IWD Civils & Rail, IWD OHL, Smartrax, and IWD Maintenance, in addition to the McGinley staff.  Their coordinated efforts allowed for seamless execution of the project, from preparatory works to final handback.

This project exemplifies how effective collaboration and communication between various stakeholders can lead to the successful delivery of complex infrastructure works. It is a testament to our commitment to providing exceptional service and support to our clients.
