McGinley Support Services are looking for a highly experienced Business Information Specialist for a 12month temp to perm contract. We are looking for a candidate who has had experience implementing this software into a previous company/department. There will be a technical element to the role but this is not the main element for this role, so they will need to be confident leading this project independently.
Weekly Hours Monday - Friday 09:00-17:00hrs
To provide the technical and analysis expertise necessary to fully gather the requirements for and build a management information platform, with significant self-serve capability, largely concerned with financial based data but to also include subsidiary reporting for customer and engagement data from a dynamics 365 platform. To produce relevant documentation to fully illustrate the requirement, functional build and data structures involved. Some wider knowledge sharing around Power BI as a platform with key users in the business will also be a feature of this role.
This role will be central to embedding and delivering Power BI as the central business reporting tool.
*To establish the full detailed requirements for the range of reporting required.
*To fully document the requirements for the range of reporting required.
*To fully document the technical data build to support the Power BI reporting.
*To fully document the Power BI implementation and associated instruction detail for the end user community
*To fully document, define and specify the infrastructure requirements to support Power BI as the reporting platform within the company.
*To support other non-technical users within the business in their use of Power BI as a tool to deliver reporting requirements
*To work closely with the operations team with the company to ensure optimal platform delivery and operational functioning of Power BI as a platform.
*Ensure all SQL queries are fully optimised to ensure fast data returns.
*To define and implement the appropriate infrastructure to support the delivery of Power BI within the company.
*To act as the subject matter expert with regard to power BI related matters.
*To act as a promoter of Power BI and a generator of ideas as to how it can be used within the company to fully leverage all appropriate data sources.
*To deliver a platform that is as much focused on self-serving capabilities as possible
*Experience in delivering basic training to non-development users.
*5 years experience of using MS power BI as a reporting development tool
*Very Comprehensive technical skills in transact SQL. Queries to both retrieve and manipulate data within Microsoft SQL server to present to a power BI layer.
*Experience in optimizing data queries to ensure optimal performance of all reporting at all times
*Excellent stakeholder engagement and extensive requirements gathering skills
*Full knowledge and experience in the Configuration / setup / licensing of power BI within an operational business entity.
*Excellent written and verbal skills both for user presentation and explanation and for technical and requirements documentation.
*Excellent business facing skills and the ability to elicit fully detailed requirements form a user base under time constraints
*Understanding of Financial and Management accounting principles is highly advantageous.
*Understanding / experience of delivering management reporting in a project focused business of significant benefit.
*Excellent experience and knowledge of the mechanisms around delivering Power BI as a self-service platform
*Excellent experience of delivering Power BI presentation in a concise and effective way.
*Knowledge and previous experience of financial data reporting
*Knowledge of any MS Navision / Dynamics 365 / Project Online and their data structures highly desirable
*Knowledge of cloud-based Power BI usage and interacting with Azure hosted SQL databases highly desirable
** Excellent knowledge and experience of the segmenting and securitizing of reporting data highly desirable.
