A Project Engineer is required for a major rail organisation, for rail civils and structural works on major rail route based in Manchester. This is an initial 6 month contract.

You will be working both in a direct delivery model and managing client side on major route enhancements throughout the route. You will be responsible for design reviews, ensuring safety by design, ensuring engineering projects are working to organisational standards, monitoring contractor engineering and construction activity, share best practice and act as SME on engineering issues related to civils and structural works.

Successful candidate will have significant demonstrable knowledge of project engineering in a rail environment working on rail civils and structural enhancement projects, ideally to DPE (Designated Project Engineer) level. Design assurance experience would also be required as well as contractor review. Chartered Engineer or membership of relevant professional engineering body would be desirable.

This role is for a publicly funded organisation and would be determined inside IR35 for Limited company contractors.
