We have an exciting opportunity at a multi-million pound civil engineering firm, working out of seven regional offices across the country. This role is for an experienced Senior Estimator for a permanent contract, which could be based in a few of their offices across the UK including Ipswich, Kent, Chertsey and Huntington.
The main purpose of this role is to handle all aspects of tenders for contracts by calculating costs involved as per the client's technical specification.
Ideal candidates will have experience in managing information for bids and tenders; researching materials, equipment and labour costs; planning job timescales and monitoring the stages of a project to ensure costs are kept within forecasts; and ensure all work complies with quality safety and environmental policies.
Successful candidates will have a solid background in estimating civil engineering, with experience of projects in the region of highways, infrastructure and earthworks. Ideally a suitable candidate would also have sound knowledge of spreadsheets and other estimating packages.
