From our workforce delivering millions of hours of hard work in the field through a dedicated group of staff, managers and directors to the family business supporting the goals of everyone involved.

Our workforce

Our team of over 100 people are working in close collaboration to delivery for our workforce and customers. Dermot McGinley

Chief Executive Officer

Dermot has a long history in both the construction and recruitment sector. As well as leading McGinley family run contracting and recruitment buinesses, he served for 13 years as a Main Board Director of the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) chairing the Audit Committee and was a key member of the NVQ/SVQ Committee.

Dermot brings his experience and passion to McGinley in developing the Group’s strategic direction and the development of major new business opportunities within the Recruitment sector.

Sean McGinley

Chief Operating Officer

A former Quantity Surveyor, Sean worked in the building and civil engineering sector for 10 years before joining the McGinley in 1990.

As Commercial Director, and with an in depth understanding of the business needs for the future, Sean leads a team that provides the McGinley business and senior management with the services they need to be successful. These include: business strategy and planning, financial planning, procurement, marketing and quality management.

Paul Gill

Chief Financial Officer

Paul brings over 25 years of experience to his role of Finance Director, including 10 years at one of the world's largest recruitment businesses. At McGinley, Paul not only oversees the company's finance departments but as a member of the Executive Board, helps develop the company's strategy.

OHSE Director

John is a Chartered Health and Safety Practitioner (CMIOSH) who has worked in construction and railway industries for over 30 years, he is an Associate Member of IEMA (AIEMA) and working towards practitioner status (PIEMA).

Tim Moynihan

Non-Executive Director

Tim is an experienced chairman and non-executive director in private equity, founder, and family owned recruitment businesses. Tim had an executive career with Hays Plc where he was Financial Director of four of its divisions, is a qualified accountant and has more than twenty years experience in the recruitment and staffing industry.

David Pateman

Managing Director – Civil Engineering

David has over 30 years experience in the construction industry within the infrastructure, heavy civils, power, utilities, telecommunications, transportation, aviation, logistics & labour supply sectors.

He has worked on large, complex, high-profile projects including large water schemes, major utility frameworks, and power and rail projects.

David is responsible for planning, developing and implementing commercial strategies based on company goals and objectives with the main goal to support and accelerate growth in our civil engineering division. That includes developing and leading the McGinley's overall engagement strategy for HS2 projects.

Colin Edge

Managing Director - Rail Systems

Colin has more than 30 years experience in recruitment, particularly focused on the rail and infrastructure sector.

He has held senior leadership positions for more than 20 years in UK and international companies, and is well practised in maintaining strong management teams that forge strong client relationships, meet delivery requirements and effectively grow the business.

Fiona Burke

HR Director

Fiona joined McGinley in 2012 and has 15 years of diverse human resources experience in a range of sectors. Fiona’s main responsibility is to develop and deliver people management strategies which support the company’s overall strategic aims and objectives.

Michael Coyle

Business Support Director

Michael has over 30 years’ experience in the recruitment industry in both delivery and back office. He is responsible for a number of McGinley's support functions that facilitate the day-to-day smooth running of the business including; IT, Compliance, Operations and Fleet Management.

Chris Young

Digital Communications and Recruitment Director

Chris became part of the McGinley team in 2021, bringing with him a vast background in recruitment, encompassing sales, training, and business systems. As our Business Change Manager, Chris steered the team through a substantial transformation, displaying a passion for enhancing performance and assisting the business in optimising new systems.

Today, in the capacity of our Digital Communications and Recruitment Director, Chris plays a crucial role in leading our recruitment efforts. With a keen focus on leveraging digital channels for communication, Chris ensures that we stay at the forefront of technological advancements while maintaining a strong recruitment strategy. His dedication to collaboration and driving innovation remains an invaluable asset across the business.
