Getting our STEM Ambassadors moving for 2018

McGinley is committed to supporting the achievement of world-leading education for all young people in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

As part of this commitment, we have developed a team of STEM Ambassadors who volunteer their time, enthusiasm and experiences to encourage and inspire young people to achieve more and progress further in STEM subjects.

Through a range of activities, including presentations, mentoring and careers talks our STEM Ambassadors play an essential role in inspiring the next generation of personnel such as Engineers, Project Managers, and Surveyors to develop the UK’s infrastructure.

National Science Week 2018

To kick-start our STEM programme for 2018, McGinley was invited to take part in Science Week at Park Street School in Hertfordshire.

Our Bid Manager & STEM Ambassador, Kelley Bissell called upon her previous studies to present an exciting and engaging presentation on Forensic Science with a particular focus on fingerprints, to Reception and Years 1-5, supported by our Marketing and Communications Manager Rebecca Meggs.

Speaking about the day, Rebecca commented “The participation from students at Park Street School was fantastic. It was great to be part of igniting their interest in Science and to see some of their creations from National Science Week. We had many questions relating to McGinley and what we do, which was great to hear. I am looking forward to the progression of our STEM programme during the course of 2018”
